Here we go! Almost.
Before the trip, there are the prep steps before any actual adventuring can begin.
The right gear.
Fall clothes that fit from last year. This was a never-ending sitch!
Wires and plugs and the items required by school. And the EU.
Actualizing our lives into 5 suitcases for 100 days.
Today is the official first day of school for our 6th grader, and two 10th graders. We had to start early to give some time for acclimation to an online and asynchronous school environment. AND, what better way to practice school while traveling than by taking a road trip to Montana.
We set out on Sunday for our trial week of travel plus school.
And now for the rest of the prep steps:
- Arranging family and friends to check in on the house
- Driving one car to Grand Junction so it can be rented out while we are gone
- Setting up our two tenants with what they will need while we are gone (one of those tenants happens to be my parents)
- Ordering all the dog food for our friends who will have our Lego dog
- Getting one last physical therapy appointment in (maybe 2 more)
- And one last haircut
- And cleaning out the fish tank because the last nemo fish just died (good timing)
- Eating all of the contents of frig and freezer – there will be some weird meals!
- And actually packing
