Awe
Saturnia, Italy
The night sky came alive as we sat in the thermal pools (that are free) called Cascate del Mulino di Saturnia. Truly amazing, with cascading waterfalls, pools of various sizes and depths for soaking, and a river to follow through the bamboo reeds and around the bend and back to the main connection point. Disney could not have made it any better. It is just about 98 degrees – you could really stay in all day. The bottom of the pools are covered with these smooth round rocks that are speckled with green. I called them Dinosaur Eggs. That night, after getting away from the parking lot lights, the sky filled with stars and constellations.

In the countryside, when you don’t go home until 11pm, you get the gift of the night sky. It is unobstructed. Each of us have about six more mosquito bites from going outside to stare at it, but it is worth it.
Driving up the driveway of our farm stay, I continued to be in awe of their self-sufficient little piece of land. I could see a homemade wooden ladder against an olive tree (harvest happens at the end of September), a wheelbarrow, a fenced garden of tomatoes and other goodies, and pomegranate trees on the side of the house.

This is a great experience for all of you! I have heard that wheat in Italy is so different from what we have in the US. What a blessing for your body to be able to receive it.
The thermal pools sound fantastic and I loved the photo of the kids walking through the reeds!
